Woodpecker
Design size: 23 x 16"
(58.5 x 40.5cm)

WOODPECKER:  Morris' unique 9ft (2.74m) tapestry hangs in the William Morris Gallery.
He has incorporated all his skills with foliage, a romantic poem and a lovely border. Although Beth Russell's interpretation is somewhat smaller than the original, she remains faithful to Morris' shapes and colourings to create a beautiful firescreen or hanging. AFRICAN MARIGOLD:  Morris' original delicate watercolour painting of his African Marigold fabric is another treat to be seen at the Gallery. Although designed as a repeating fabric, it inspired Beth Russell to produce a needlepoint rug and cushion.

These are just a few examples of a large number of Morris inspired designs for needlepoint.
The kits are expertly printed on de luxe quality canvas and the wools have the softly faded colours so admired by Morris himself. Each kit comes complete with canvas, wools, needles and detailed instructions.
